ASCA Certification – The Same Professional Pathway Worldwide

ASCA Certification is a professional education pathway for coaches at every stage of their career. Levels 1-5 progress from foundational coaching knowledge to advanced professional development, recognizing a coach’s education, experience, and commitment to continued growth.

International and U.S. coaches follow the same Certification pathway and receive the same ASCA Certification and gold seal certificate.

Two Ways ASCA Recognizes Coaches

The New Era of ASCA separates professional education from athlete-performance recognition. This makes it clearer what each credential represents.

You do not need athlete performance results to progress through the ASCA Certification pathway.

Coaching Excellence Stars are separate from Certification, do not require education courses and are permanently earned once approved, if you are a current ASCA member. International-specific performance standards apply for 3-Star, 4-Star, and 5-Star recognition.
